I know a Zen Master
Uh huh! Yes I do!
The Master knows how to simplify life.
Food, brief exercise, then long periods of, er, meditation.
At least I think that’s meditation.
Yesterday I had an anxious day. Lots of reasons, my own mental weirdness, no need to detail it all here. But really rather hyped up and I could find no way to calm down.
At the end of the day, I sat on the couch, still fretting, trying to let go. That’s when the Zen master came and sat on me.
And did this:
(Turn up your sound…about a 500k file, runs 14 seconds)*
Suddenly I was listening to the sound of contentment. Pure, simplicity of peace.
And I exhaled that tense breath that had been pent up inside my chest all day.
The muscles started to relax.
And I felt…calm.
Damn Feline might be on to something. She should charge for this kind of therapy!
Here, the master holds a yoga pose…and holds it…and holds it…..

You know, my cats have seen me through every hard time in my adult life. Mikey got me through my mom's death. Abby got me through the worst break-up of my life. Junior and Abby kept me sane last year when Emmett and I were both unemployed for so many months. They're such a comfort to me. Call me a crazy cat lady if you want, you know? I kinda take it as a compliment. :-)

That was great. I played it like, I dunno, ten times.
When Q does that to (for?) me, he kneads on me, as well.
Sweet!

oooOooo… That was me, Natalie. Didn't know that was going to come up..lol!

Elise – my cat may act like a cranky toad sometimes, but when the chips are down, she's always there.
I have very few humans in my life who are the same in that regard.
So I hear ya, sistah!

Aw Nat, I love that you listened to it over and over. I mean, I do it too, and it immediately calms me down.
My cat does the "kneading biscuits" thing on me sometimes too, but not all the time. She usually does it when she needs calming down, not when I do.
She's a very intuitive cat, I think….

I played it for Q and his ears kept moving around in circles as he purred on me. It was really funny and I wondered if he actually *heard* it.
I think most cats are quite intuitive. It's part of the nature of being a cat. Q, on the other hand, isn't quite full cat. He thinks he's a dog a lot of the time. lol

That's funny about Q thinking he's a dog. I think my feline thinks she's a being that's quite more highly evolved than a human.
Or, as the husband says, maybe she just thinks we're really large and especially dumb cats. And she's the head of our pack.
