Here’s a handy tip:

If you are *anywhere* in the vicinity of microphones, whether or not you are sure they are turned off, do not, under ANY circumstances, say something that you might wish was not broadcast, recorded and shared.

Ummmkay?

I know, I know, sure, Ronald Reagan ran afoul of this. So did George W. Bush.

And so, you’d think we’d all learn.

But no.

And as a post script…why is it always the ardent “family values” people who are the most wacky?

Think about it.

Too. Much. Media.

In the elevator, on the way down to get frozen yogurt, I read on the Captivate headline streaming network tiny tv thingy in the elevator that doctors are starting to worry because younger generations are exposed to a lot of radiation through their lives due to medical scans, thus raising their risks for cancer. Which made me think about my once a year dental xrays, two MRI’s, a chest xray, xrayed suspected broken ankle, and my recent mammogram.

Once fro-yo was obtained (of the boysenberry variety), on the way back up in the elevator, I read that, evidently, my thermostat can make me fat. (Funny, I thought it was all the boysenberry fro-yo with crushed cookies on top).

The doors were opening so I dashed out and didn’t get the story.

That’s ok. Scared on the way down. Scared on the way up. Makes me want to eat a vat of fro-yo and hide under the bed.

It’s too much.

Wasn’t it just better when we were blissfully ignorant, eating red meat for lunch with two martinis with a pack of smokes for dessert? Perhaps we weren’t as healthy, but we also weren’t subjected to fear infused crawl headlines warning of “Fire!” or Swine flu!” or “Pestilence!”

Ignorance might really be bliss.

Sure, the information age has been amazing. But it’s been damaging too.

I *love* this ad

I’m not crazy about the entire campaign, narrated by Tom Selleck, but I have to say, I adore this ad.

Mainly because the lead actor is *selling* it the whole way.

I catch myself chanting “oh those boys are much too much…”

She’s been wronged

And the f$%^ing New York Post can’t help themselves.

“ESPN HOTTIE ERIN ANDREWS IN PEEP SHOCKER” screams the headline (I won’t link to that trash).

Gasps of shock that this could happen run through the story.

And YET…

That rag posts screen grabs from the video with a “modesty” black bar across her parts.

The video taken of her is both illegal and vastly offensive.

And in reporting the offense, one shouldn’t also include the video, links to the video or screen grabs.

The media is just perpetrating that what happened to her is ok. Spying via the peep hole in her hotel room door is ok, right? She’s just a woman, after all, and a really good looking one, too. Oh, and she’s in the public eye, so getting video of her naked is a-ok, right?

Oh, she can’t just be good at her job, nope, she’s gotta be a “hottie” too.

And that the media is taking this with a behind the hand ho-ho-ho takes me from miffed to furious.
